The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast More Rain Across Pakistan Under New Monsoon System starting today, due to a new monsoon system. Humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to enter the upper areas, causing heavy rains until September 5.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning for possible heavy rain, especially today and tomorrow (Tuesday), which could lead to floods and landslides. District administrations are on high alert as a precaution.

PMD’s Chief Meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, predicts moderate rainfall in northeastern Punjab and light rain in cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad today.

For Karachi, the PMD reported a minimum temperature of 25°C on Monday, with the maximum likely to range between 31°C and 33°C. The weather forecast shows a cloudy sky, light winds from the west, and 92% humidity, with a chance of light rain or drizzle at night.

The new weather system may also bring rain to some areas of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Thatta, Tharpakar, Mithi, and Badin, by tomorrow (Tuesday). Karachi might see light to heavy rain on September 4.

During a segment on the Geo News program “Geo Pakistan,” Sardar Sarfaraz mentioned that the new system could also bring heavy rain to northeastern Balochistan, which has already been affected by previous heavy rains. He also noted that temperatures might rise after September 7.

This new forecast follows a period of heavy rain and strong winds in some parts of Sindh due to Cyclone Asna, which eventually dissipated at sea without making landfall.
